SATARA: Chief minister
Prithviraj Chavan on Sunday said that there is no rift between the Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) over the Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank (MSCB) issue.
Speaking to mediapersons at the Rajbhavan in Mahabaleshwar at the end of his two-day tour to Satara district, Chavan said he has discussed the issues related to the MSCB with NCP chief Sharad Pawar.
It is now necessary to think about how the bank regains its financial strength. All the misunderstandings regarding the bank have been cleared, he added.
Chavan, who spoke on various development and welfare issues, said that petrol prices have been increased due to the rise in prices at the international level. The central and state governments have no role in fixing the prices of fuel, he added.
Over the last few days, the decision to appoint administrators for the MSCB had created a rift between the Congress and the NCP. The administrators have been appointed after the Reserve Bank of India dissolved its board of directors.
